Emergency assistance to the crew and consequences of the attack

The ship ANT, owned by a Turkish company, became a target of the Russian UAV while navigating through Ukraine’s territorial waters. After the impact on the superstructure, a fire erupted on board. Thanks to the prompt actions of the Marine Search and Rescue Service and the Naval Forces of Ukraine, the fire was quickly contained and prevented from spreading to other parts of the ship.

Two injured crew members were evacuated by boats of the Naval Forces of Ukraine and hospitalized for necessary medical assistance.

Threat to international shipping

The Naval Forces emphasize that Russia continues to systematically threaten the safety of international shipping in the Black Sea by carrying out attacks on civilian vessels and port infrastructure.
