Attack by a Russian drone and its consequences

According to Ivan Fedorov, the enemy drone caused destruction to a social facility. As a result of the strike, a 60-year-old man was injured. The victim is receiving the necessary medical assistance promptly.

“The enemy drone led to destruction in the local Cultural Center. A 60-year-old man was injured,” Fedorov reported.

Additionally, in the morning of June 1, regional authorities reported another shelling: at that time, a rocket hit a private house in Zaporizhzhia, injuring a 73-year-old woman.

Widespread attacks on civilian infrastructure

Russian military forces systematically carry out shelling of Ukrainian cities using various types of weapons, including strike drones, missiles, guided aerial bombs, and multiple launch rocket systems. Civil infrastructure and residential buildings across Ukraine often become primary targets.

The Ukrainian authorities, as well as international organizations, classify these attacks as war crimes of the Russian Federation. It is noted that such attacks are intentional, as they aim to deprive the population of electricity, heat, water, communication, and access to medical care.

Experts and human rights defenders point out that during the full-scale war, Russia is committing actions that may fall under the definition of genocide. Among them are public statements about the necessity to destroy Ukrainians, deliberate strikes on life-support facilities, deportation of children, and the destruction of Ukrainian culture and its bearers in occupied territories.

The Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide, adopted by the UN General Assembly in 1948, obligates signatories to prevent genocide and punish it during war and peace. Among the signs of genocide are killings, causing serious bodily harm, creating conditions for the destruction of a group, and the forcible transfer of children to another group.

At the same time, the Russian authorities deny the facts of targeted attacks on Ukraine’s civilian infrastructure and claim there is no intention to kill civilians or destroy social and energy facilities.
