The Ministry of Finance of Ukraine successfully held an auction for the placement of domestic government bonds (OVDP) on April 21, 2026, which brought over 5.5 billion hryvnias to the state budget.

Details of the OVDP Auction

According to information from the Ministry of Finance, several types of bonds were placed at the auction in both national and foreign currencies. Bonds in hryvnias with a maturity of 1.3 years and an annual interest rate of 15.15% generated revenue of 228 million hryvnias. Additionally, hryvnia bonds with a maturity of 2 years and a yield of 15.87% per annum (weighted average rate – 15.86%) contributed another 23 million hryvnias to the state budget.

A significant portion of the funds was obtained from the placement of euro-denominated bonds. Securities with a maturity of 1.2 years and an annual interest rate of 3.25% (weighted average – 3.22%) allowed for the attraction of 102 million euros.

“Over 5.5 billion UAH equivalent has been attracted to the state budget during today’s auction for the placement of domestic government bonds (OVDP),” the statement said.

Results Since the Beginning of the Year and Allocation of Funds

Since the beginning of 2026, Ukraine has already attracted over 135 billion hryvnias through the placement of OVDP. Since the start of the full-scale war, the total amount of attracted funds has exceeded 2.2 trillion hryvnias. All funds obtained from the placement of military bonds are directed to support the Armed Forces of Ukraine and strengthen the country’s financial stability.

The Ministry of Finance also reported that three switch auctions for the exchange of OVDP have been conducted since the beginning of the year. On January 14, applications totaling 17.36 billion hryvnias were satisfied, on February 11 – 10 billion hryvnias at nominal value, and on March 25, this figure amounted to 8.37 billion hryvnias.
