Focus on Macroeconomic Policy and Reforms

According to Tofano, the IMF delegation is led by Gavin Gray. The main goal of the visit is to discuss the country’s macroeconomic policy as well as key areas of structural reforms aimed at promoting economic stability and sustainable development.

“Discussions will focus on macroeconomic policy and key structural reforms,” Tofano added.

Current Cooperation and Financial Support

At the beginning of March, Ukraine already received the first tranche of funds from the International Monetary Fund under a new four-year program implemented through the Extended Fund Facility. Back in February, the IMF Board of Directors officially approved this program for Ukraine, providing funding of $8.1 billion.

It is expected that consultations with representatives of the government and IMF experts will help determine the next steps for implementing agreements and effectively utilizing international financial support.
