Government Simplifies Environmental Reporting for Low-Emission Enterprises

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has approved new rules for submitting environmental reports regarding pollutant emissions for businesses. From now on, enterprises with minimal environmental impact that belong to the third group in terms of atmospheric influence will be able to take advantage of a simplified reporting procedure.

Significant Changes for Low-Emission Enterprises

According to the updated regulations, companies in this category will have the opportunity to submit the main part of their annual report in a free format. This approach reduces bureaucratic burdens and significantly simplifies the preparation of documentation for businesses.

The innovations aim to optimize the interaction of economic entities with government bodies, as well as to reduce administrative barriers without compromising effective environmental control. The authorities combine a deregulation approach with adherence to fundamental environmental standards, ensuring a balance between supporting businesses and protecting the environment.

Control and Responsibility Remain

Enterprises that utilize simplified reporting must continue to comply with existing emission standards and fulfill the requirements of issued permits. At the same time, the measures introduced are intended to alleviate pressure on businesses, allowing them to focus on meeting environmental standards without unnecessary bureaucracy.

“The changes are aimed at optimizing the interaction between businesses and government bodies while reducing administrative burdens without compromising environmental monitoring.”

It is worth noting that Ukraine already has a Register of Integrated Environmental Permits, which provides businesses with the opportunity to use a “single window” for environmental procedures. This is another step towards digitization and deregulation of business interactions with the state in the field of environmental protection.
