The jury and selection committee of the prestigious professional journalism competition ‘Honor of the Profession 2026’ have announced the shortlist of finalists in six key categories. Four works by representatives of Radio Free Europe made the list, highlighting the significant contribution of journalists to the development of Ukrainian media.

In the category of ‘Best Interview’, the work of Iryna Sysak, operator Pavlo Kholodov, and director Maryna Polishyna titled ‘Conversations with Russians in Chatroulette, War, History, and Russian Propaganda. Interview with Vitaliy Dribnitsia’ is among the finalists.

In the ‘Best War Report’ category, the material by Yaroslav Krechko and Pavlo Kholodov titled ‘Infantry, UAV, FPV: How the Russian Army is Hit Near Toretsk’ is a contender for victory, created as part of the Radio Free Europe Donbas Realities project.
In the ‘Best Investigation’ category, the documentary film ‘Bucha Yablunska’, worked on by Dmytro Dzhulai and co-authors including Yevhen Lubchak (graphics), Vladyslav Yatskiv (producer), Pavlo Kholodov, and Volodymyr Pautov (operator), made it to the finals.
Another contender in this category is the journalistic investigation ‘Doctor Evil. The Doctor Who Tortured Ukrainian Prisoners of War in One of the Most Closed Prisons in Mordovia’, prepared by Olha Ivlieva and Kira Tolstyakova as part of the Radio Free Europe ‘Schemes’ project.
Competition Features and Award Ceremony
This year, a record 790 journalistic works were submitted for the main nominations of the ‘Honor of the Profession’ competition. Based on the work of the selection committee and jury, a list of finalists has been formed, among whom the winners will soon be determined.
The solemn award ceremony will take place on June 4, during which the names of the competition winners will be announced.
