Belgorod-Dniester Port to be Connected by Rail to Romania for Transit Cargo

The Belgorod-Dniester Port, located in the Odesa region, plans to implement the supply of transit cargo from Asia to European Union countries by the end of this year. Reconstruction of the Railway Section

The opening of this railway route will be made possible by the major reconstruction of the “Benderi-Bessarabia-Etulia-Djurjulesht” railway section in Moldova. The total cost of the extensive modernization of this section, covering 230 km, is €108 million, and it is being carried out with the support of the European Investment Bank and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development.

Improving Conditions for Cargo Transportation

The completion of the work will remove restrictions on the weight and speed of train movement, ensuring an increase in speed up to 90 km per hour. This will enhance safety, reduce delivery times for cargo, and create optimal conditions for the effective operation of the railway section. This route is of great importance for transit logistics in the region and serves as a vital link between the railway systems of Ukraine, Moldova, and the EU.
