Situation with Energy Supply at ZNPP

Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, the Russian Federation has repeatedly shelled energy infrastructure, causing the Zaporizhzhia NPP to experience 12 complete disconnections from the power grid. The last instance of power outages at the plant occurred less than a month ago.

Risks for the Energy System and Actions of the Occupants

According to information from the Ministry of Energy, Russia is deliberately damaging energy facilities in the occupied territories and is conducting tests to connect the Zaporizhzhia NPP to its own energy system. Such actions are taking place amid prolonged combat operations and occupation, creating additional risks for the stability of energy supply in the region and the safety of the plant itself.

“During the full-scale war, Russian shelling has repeatedly led to damage to the power lines of the ZNPP and caused 12 blackouts at the plant. The last such incident occurred less than a month ago. Furthermore, Russia is deliberately incapacitating energy infrastructure in the occupied territory and testing the connection of the Zaporizhzhia NPP to its own energy system amid combat operations and occupation,” the statement reads.
