What Salary Do Ukrainians Consider Acceptable: Survey Results for 2025

Nearly 20% of Ukrainians are currently unemployed and actively seeking new jobs. A study conducted by the “OLX Work” platform shows that the most popular desired salary range among Ukrainians is between 20,000 and 30,000 hryvnias — this amount was mentioned by 31% of respondents.

Expected Income Levels and Employment

According to the survey, 30% of respondents expect to earn between 30,000 and 50,000 hryvnias, while another 19% expect to earn over 50,000 hryvnias. A salary of 10,000 to 20,000 hryvnias is considered acceptable by 17% of participants, and only 4% of respondents are willing to earn less than 10,000 hryvnias.

Regarding employment status, 39% of Ukrainians have permanent jobs. Temporarily employed individuals make up 8%, while 7% are retirees who continue to work or are looking for new jobs. 5% of respondents work as freelancers, and 4% are students.

Popular Employment Sectors and Demographic Features

Ukrainians show the greatest interest in the trade and sales sector — this field was chosen by 37% of job seekers. 21% prefer freelancing regardless of the field, highlighting a desire for flexible schedules and remote work. The transportation and logistics sectors (16%) and manufacturing and engineering (13%) remain important. The least popular fields are law and consulting, each at 2%.

By age categories, the largest group of job seekers is in the 35–44 age range (35%), followed by those aged 45–54 (21%) and 25–34 (19%). Youth aged 18–24 make up 7%, while those under 18 account for 4% of job seekers.

In terms of gender composition, men represent 51% of respondents, women 47%, and another 2% did not specify their gender.
