In December 2025, the Ukrainian market for new passenger cars saw a significant increase in demand for electric vehicles, which confidently occupy leading positions in sales. According to the “Ukravtoprom” portal, the ten most popular models accounted for 40% of the total sales volume of new cars, with most of them being electric vehicles.

Crossovers are particularly popular among Ukrainian consumers, which is confirmed by the high rankings of electric models. Experts explain the increased interest in electric vehicles by the expiration of tax incentives for the import of electric cars, which will be in effect until December 31, 2025. After this date, experts predict that prices for electric vehicles in Ukraine may rise by approximately 20% due to the reinstatement of VAT.

Sales Leaders: Volkswagen and BYD
The most sought-after vehicle among Ukrainian motorists in December was the electric crossover Volkswagen ID. UNYX, with 825 units sold. In second place was the Chinese BYD Leopard 3, with 735 cars sold, followed by another model from BYD — the Sea Lion 06 (641 sales).
Following the list of the most popular new cars in Ukraine are the following models:
- Renault Duster – 582 units;
- Zeekr 7X – 442 units;
- Toyota RAV4 – 408 units;
- BYD Sea Lion 07 – 387 units;
- Zeekr 001 – 363 units;
- BYD Yuan Up – 308 units;
- Honda e:NP2 – 306 units.
It is evident that Chinese manufacturers are gradually strengthening their positions in the Ukrainian market, and electric models are becoming increasingly attractive to buyers.
