During January-March 2026, the volume of metal products consumed in the domestic market of Ukraine reached 892.4 thousand tons. This is an increase of 3.42% compared to the same period in 2025, when this figure was 863.4 thousand tons.

Consumption Structure and Metal Imports
According to the association of enterprises “Ukrmetallurgprom”, in the first three months of 2026, 521 thousand tons of domestically produced metal products entered the domestic market. This accounts for 48% of the total consumption volume. Meanwhile, imports of metal products amounted to 371 thousand tons, which is 42% of the total volume, an increase of 2.7% compared to the first quarter of 2025.
Geography of Import Supplies
In the structure of imports, non-EU European countries lead, accounting for 49.7% of the imported products. In second place are Asian countries at 22%, while EU-27 countries hold the third position with a share of 18.2%.

The growth in steel consumption in the domestic market indicates stabilization and gradual recovery of the industry, as well as an increasing role of import supplies in meeting demand.
