Significance of the Saratov Oil Refinery for the Russian Oil Refining Industry
The Saratov oil refinery is one of the oldest specialized enterprises in Russia. Previously known as the “Cracking” plant, it is part of the oil company “Rosneft.” The refinery plays an important role in meeting the domestic needs of the Russian economy and in exporting petroleum products.
The capacities of the Saratov oil refinery allowed for the processing of significant volumes of oil: in 2020, the plant processed 7.2 million tons of raw materials, while in 2023 this figure decreased to 4.8 million tons.
Special Operations and Strategic Consequences
The report from the Special Operations Forces emphasizes the effectiveness of the asymmetric actions of the Ukrainian military aimed at weakening the enemy’s economic potential and halting its further aggressive actions.
