The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine has officially announced the resolution of the incident involving the erroneous display of ‘wanted’ status for some women in the state application ‘Reserve+’. The situation arose due to a local technical error caused by human factors in the operations of one of the district territorial recruitment and social support centers (TCC).

Correction of the Error and Further Actions by the Ministry of Defense
According to the Ministry, the erroneous accounting affected 32 women who were mistakenly registered for military accounting. Currently, the ‘wanted’ status for all the mentioned individuals has already been revoked. No punitive measures have been applied to these citizens, as there were no legal grounds for such actions. By the end of April, it is planned to completely remove the specified women from the general military accounting.
“The department emphasized that they are currently changing the algorithms of the system to prevent human factors from influencing such processes in the future.”
Which Women Are Subject to Military Registration in Ukraine
According to current legislation, only those women who are fit for military service based on their health and age and have obtained a medical or pharmaceutical specialty are required to be registered for military accounting. Graduates from educational institutions in these specialties will be automatically registered starting in 2025: for this, the educational institution sends their data to the TCC within seven days after graduation. The woman then has 60 days to appear at the center for an assessment of her fitness for military service.
For representatives of other professions, including economists, lawyers, or IT specialists, military registration is purely voluntary and not mandatory.
It is worth noting that the mobilization of women in Ukraine is not compulsory. If a female medic is registered for military accounting, she can only be called up to the Armed Forces of Ukraine with her personal consent.
At the same time, the Verkhovna Rada has decided to maintain the current rates of military tax for another three years after the end of the war.
