Ukrainian Armed Forces Strike Russian Military Targets in Crimea and Occupied Territories

The Ukrainian Defense Forces have carried out a series of successful attacks on Russian military facilities located both in occupied territories and in the border regions of the Russian Federation. This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Targets of the Strikes: Command Centers, Drones, and Warehouses

According to the staff, the attacks were aimed at a command-observation point near the settlement of Dovhe in temporarily occupied Luhansk, as well as at drone control points in the areas of Tyotkino in the Kursk region, and the occupied Uspenivka and Zelenyi in Zaporizhzhia.

Additionally, the Defense Forces struck a repair and maintenance base for weapons and military equipment in Klynkyne (Donetsk region), a logistics hub in Manhush (Donetsk region), and a storage facility for assault landing boats in Chornomorske (occupied Crimea).

Details of the Attacks and Clarifications on Losses

Ukrainian military forces also targeted Russian ammunition depots in the areas of Skadovsk in Kherson, Panteleimonivka in Donetsk, and Dovzhansk in Luhansk. Furthermore, warehouses for material and technical resources and fuel and lubricants were hit in Sabivka and Rovenky (Luhansk region).

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine clarifies that as a result of previous strikes, a drone laboratory was destroyed in the Orlynske area (Donetsk region) on April 9, and a radar station “Nebo-M” was hit in the vicinity of the village of Chernovets in the Belgorod region, as well as the “Podlyot” station in Novomaryivka in the Rostov region. The losses of the Russian army and the scale of the damage are being clarified.

According to eyewitnesses, explosions were heard in occupied Crimea on the night of April 17, Russian air defense was active, an air alert was declared in Sevastopol, and the Kerch Bridge was temporarily closed.

The Russian side has not officially commented on these strikes; however, the Russian Ministry of Defense reported the downing of 67 drones during the day on April 16 and another 62 on the night of Friday.

Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion by Russia, facilities on its territory and in the occupied territories of Ukraine have regularly been subjected to air and missile strikes. The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine notes that the Defense Forces “systematically implement measures aimed at reducing the combat potential of the Russian occupation forces, as well as compelling the Russian Federation to cease its armed aggression against Ukraine.”
