Ukrainian Armed Forces Repelled 36 Assaults by Russian Troops in the Pokrovsk Direction in One Day

Ukrainian defenders are effectively resisting attempts by the Russian army to advance into Ukrainian territory. According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, 181 combat engagements were recorded in various sectors of the front over the past day.

Intense Fighting in Donetsk Region

The situation was particularly tense in the Pokrovsk direction, where Ukrainian forces halted 36 enemy assault attacks near the settlements of Nikanorivka, Myrnohrad, Rodynske, Pokrovsk, Hryshyne, Kotlyne, Udachne, Muravka, Novomykolaivka, as well as towards Kucheriiv Yar, Bilytske, Nova Shakhivka, Novopidhorodne, and Novopavlivka.

“In the Pokrovsk direction, our defenders stopped 36 aggressive actions by the enemy in the areas of the settlements of Nikanorivka, Myrnohrad, Rodynske, Pokrovsk, Hryshyne, Kotlyne, Udachne, Muravka, Novomykolaivka and towards the settlements of Kucheriiv Yar, Bilytske, Nova Shakhivka, Novopidhorodne, Novopavlivka,” the report states.

Russian Forces Attacks on Multiple Fronts

In addition to the Pokrovsk direction, the Russian army launched five assaults in the South Slobozhansky direction and conducted active combat operations in the Kupiansk, Lyman, Sloviansk, and Kramatorsk directions. In the Kostiantynivka direction, 35 attacks by the occupiers were recorded towards Kostiantynivka, Ivanopillia, Illinivka, Stepanivka, Novopavlivka, as well as near Pleshchiyivka, Rusynyi Yar, Yablunivka, and Sofiivka.

Four Russian attacks were separately noted in the Oleksandrivka direction in the areas of Oleksandrhrad, Verbove, and Kalynivske. In the Huliaipole direction, the enemy attempted to advance 21 times towards Varvarivka, Staroukrainka, Olenokostiantynivka, Zelenyi, Zaliznychnyi, as well as in the area of Myrnyi. In the Dnipro direction, Ukrainian units repelled another attack near the Antonivskyi Bridge.

At the same time, no active offensive actions by Russian troops were recorded in the Orikhiv direction the day before.

Commander of the 5th Separate Heavy Mechanized Brigade Ruslan Habinet noted in a comment that the Defense Forces continue to maintain control over certain areas of Pokrovsk and Myrnohrad in the Donetsk region. Military experts emphasize the increasing intensity of combat operations amid improving weather conditions and predict a rise in the number of offensive operations by the Russian army at the end of March.
