Ukrainian Armed Forces regain control over almost all of Dnipropetrovsk region — updated information

ЗСУ майже повністю відновили контроль над Дніпропетровщиною – Комаренко

The Ukrainian Defense Forces continue their offensive in the Oleksandrivka direction and have almost completely regained control over the territory of the Dnipropetrovsk region. This was reported by Major General Oleksandr Komarenko, head of the Main Operational Directorate of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Results of the operation in Dnipropetrovsk

According to Oleksandr Komarenko, the Armed Forces of Ukraine have liberated over 400 square kilometers of the region. In a somewhat smaller section of the front, the rear area has been cleared of Russian occupying forces that had previously infiltrated there.

“Almost the entire territory of the Dnipropetrovsk region has been liberated. There are three small settlements left to work on and two more to clear. By the way, thanks to these active actions in February, we have a positive trend — more territory has been liberated than lost,” said Komarenko.

It is worth noting that in August 2025, Russian troops entered the Dnipropetrovsk region, but thanks to the coordinated actions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the situation in this direction has changed in favor of Ukraine.

Counteroffensive actions and strategic initiative

The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi, noted that the Defense Forces aim to seize the operational initiative and impose their terms on the enemy. In particular, in the Oleksandrivka direction, units of the Air Assault Forces have regained control over 285.6 square kilometers over the course of a month. Overall, as Syrskyi reported, since the beginning of the operation, more than 400 square kilometers of territory have returned under Ukrainian control.

The Defense Forces continue to reclaim their positions at the border of Donetsk, Dnipropetrovsk, and Zaporizhzhia regions — this direction is marked as Oleksandrivka in the reports of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The operation was conducted under conditions of almost complete information silence, so the exact date of its start is unknown.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky reported in March 2026 that since the beginning of the year, Ukrainian forces have managed to reclaim 460 square kilometers of territory. He emphasized that Ukraine is not losing the war and expressed a desire for dialogue and peace.
