Train Delays in Ukraine Due to Russian Shelling: List and Delay Times

As a result of extensive shelling by the Russian Federation that occurred on Saturday, November 8, significant damage to railway infrastructure has been recorded in the Poltava region. Ukrzaliznytsia has reported substantial delays in long-distance train services, ranging from 2.5 to 6.5 hours.

Which Train Routes Were Most Affected

Due to enemy strikes, some stations have been left without electricity, and the contact network has been damaged in several sections. As a result, movement on these sections is only possible with diesel locomotives. Significant delays are observed both in long-distance trains and in suburban services in the Poltava and Kharkiv regions. The latter may be delayed by approximately 1.5 to 2 hours.

As of 8 AM, the following long-distance trains are delayed:

  • №720 Kyiv – Kharkiv: delay of 6 hours 30 minutes
  • №22/21 Kharkiv – Lviv: delay of 2 hours 30 minutes
  • №111/112 Lviv – Izium: delay of 5 hours
  • №63/64 Lviv – Kharkiv: delay of 5 hours
  • №103/104 Husarivka – Lviv: delay of 4 hours
  • №17/18 Uzhhorod – Kharkiv: delay of 3 hours 40 minutes
  • №227/228 Husarivka – Ivano-Frankivsk: delay of 3 hours 30 minutes

For passengers of train №725 Kharkiv – Kyiv Intercity+, boarding will be organized in Poltava, where they will be transported by electric train. Accordingly, passengers of train №720 Kyiv – Kharkiv Intercity+ will continue their journey from Poltava to Kharkiv also by electric train. Ukrzaliznytsia assures that it is making every effort to minimize delays and ensure the safety of passengers.
