Metal Structures Imports Increased by 2.4 Times

According to the Ukrainian Center for Steel Construction (UCSC), the market dynamics indicate a gradual recovery after a sharp decline in 2022. At the same time, experts from the Center note that the domestic market grew by only 3%, while the volume of metal structures imports increased by 2.4 times. The main areas of application for metal structures remain projects for the restoration and protection of critical infrastructure facilities, as well as the construction of industrial and logistics buildings.

“After a sharp decline in demand for metal structures in 2022, we are observing stable consumption growth of 15–20% annually. However, we are still far from the figures of 2021, when the steel structures market reached 154 thousand tons,” characterized the state of the industry Andriy Ozeichuk, director of the construction company Rauta and chairman of the UCSC board.

Forecast: The Market Will Grow by Another 9% in 2026

According to industry analysts’ forecasts, the metal structures market may increase by an additional 9% in 2026, reaching approximately 117 thousand tons. This indicates a recovery in demand and an activation of the construction industry within the country.
