Licensing Conditions and Features of the Site
According to the Prozorro.Sales system, “Solartec Esko” offered 31.7 million UAH for the 20-year license. This amount is nearly three times higher than the bid of the sole competitor. It is known that the company specializes in photovoltaics and solar energy.
The Maidan section is located on the outskirts of the village of Burtyn, approximately 20 km northeast of Shepetivka. The area of the deposit is 128.65 hectares.
Graphite Reserves and Method of Development
Geological assessments indicate that category C2 confirms the presence of 25.5 million tons of graphite ore with a graphite content of 1.4 million tons. Prospective resources in category P1 add another 40.3 million tons of ore and 1.56 million tons of graphite. Additionally, within the protective zone of the village of Mykhailychka, 1.12 million tons of conditionally balanced reserves have been accounted for.
Mining will be conducted using an open-pit method, without explosive works.
Thus, the new permit will allow “Solartec Esko” to commence industrial development of the deposit using environmentally safe technologies.
