The authorities in Sumy have decided to start the heating season earlier than planned. The city government has decided to provide residents with heat starting from October 27, 2025, instead of the previously scheduled date of November 1.

Reason for Changing the Heating Start Date
The acting mayor, Artem Kobzar, announced that the heating supply date was moved up due to a significant drop in air temperature. The decision was made during a meeting of the commission on technogenic and ecological safety and emergency situations (TEB and NS).
Details of the Heating Decision
Previously, the city administration planned to turn on the heating from November 1. However, due to weather conditions and requests from residents, the start date of the heating season was moved to October 27 to ensure comfort in the homes of city dwellers.
“Initially, it was planned to provide heat from November 1, but considering the drop in temperature, we decided to turn on the heating earlier.”
Thus, in 2025, Sumy will begin the heating season a few days earlier than usual to create the necessary living conditions for the population during the autumn cold snap.
