Who is Eligible for the New Payments and Their Amount

As part of this initiative, over 8,700 Ukrainian families with children in subgroup A under the age of 18 will receive a one-time payment of 6,500 hryvnias. The assistance is aimed at meeting basic needs and organizing daily care for children who require constant external support and are unable to care for themselves.

However, only those families residing in nine regions of the country that have been most affected by the consequences of the war are eligible to receive these funds. This list includes:

  • Chernihiv Oblast
  • Dnipropetrovsk Oblast
  • Donetsk Oblast
  • Kharkiv Oblast
  • Kherson Oblast
  • Mykolaiv Oblast
  • Odesa Oblast
  • Sumy Oblast
  • Zaporizhzhia Oblast

The western regions of the country — Lviv, Ivano-Frankivsk, Ternopil, Volyn, Rivne, Zakarpattia, Chernivtsi Oblasts, as well as the Kyiv region — are not included in this program.

Mechanism for Receiving Payments and Additional Support Measures

“To receive the funds, beneficiaries do not need to separately collect documents or submit applications. The money will be automatically credited to the bank accounts of families through the Pension Fund of Ukraine, and the payment process will take several months”.

At the beginning of the year, the state already procured portable charging stations for families with children in subgroup A to ensure continuous power supply for medical equipment during power outages.

Additionally, a recent initiative has introduced the option to purchase discounted tickets online for persons with disabilities in specialized inclusive carriages, which enhances the accessibility of transport for this category of citizens.
