літієве родовище на Кіровоградщині може стати першим пілотним проєктом із США

The ‘Dobra’ lithium deposit, located in the Kirovohrad region, may become the first pilot joint project between Ukraine and the USA in the field of investment. This was reported by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy Yulia Svyrydenko after a meeting of the Interagency Commission on the organization of the conclusion and execution of production sharing agreements.

Investor Interest and Development Prospects

According to Yulia Svyrydenko, investors have already shown interest in the ‘Dobra’ lithium deposit. Currently, the working group is considering requests regarding its development. If all legislative requirements are met, a competition for all interested companies is planned to be announced at the next meeting of the commission.

“We have investor interest in several deposits. One of them is the ‘Dobra’ lithium deposit in the Kirovohrad region. The working group will process requests regarding its development. If all legal requirements are met, we will initiate the procedure for announcing a competition for all interested companies at the next meeting,” she wrote on Facebook.

Partnership with the USA and Cooperation Conditions

The ‘Dobra’ lithium deposit potentially falls under the mandate of the American-Ukrainian Reconstruction Fund, which opens up opportunities for the implementation of the first joint investment project between the two countries. The relevant agreement on economic partnership and the establishment of the Reconstruction Investment Fund was signed by Ukraine and the USA on April 30.

As noted by Yulia Svyrydenko, according to the document, full ownership and control over the fund remain with Ukraine, and the fund itself is established on a parity basis – 50/50. At the same time, Ukraine will not have debt obligations to the USA, the agreement will not hinder Ukraine’s integration into the European Union, and the fund’s financing will be carried out solely from the revenues of new licenses.

The agreement on the establishment of the American-Ukrainian Reconstruction Investment Fund officially came into effect in May after the relevant diplomatic note was delivered to the United States.
