Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko held a meeting with diplomatic representatives of European Union countries, during which key issues regarding the reform of the energy sector and the strengthening of anti-corruption policies in the field were raised.

Reform of Governance in Strategic State Enterprises
During the meeting, Svyrydenko detailed new measures aimed at cleansing and enhancing the effectiveness of anti-corruption policies in the energy sector. She emphasized that Ukraine calls on its EU partners to actively engage in the reform process, particularly at the initial stage by providing their suggestions for candidates for the supervisory board of NAEC “Energoatom”.

According to the Prime Minister, the government is also considering the involvement of international auditors for auditing and updating the composition of the supervisory boards of state enterprises in the energy sector. This is expected to enhance transparency and the effectiveness of governance in strategic companies.
Announcement of Competitions and Personnel Updates
Against the backdrop of reforms, the Cabinet of Ministers has already launched a competition for positions on the supervisory board of NJSC “Naftogaz of Ukraine”. The formation of the new board is planned to be completed by January 20, 2026. Additionally, an unscheduled competition for candidates to the supervisory board of NAEC “Energoatom” has been announced, indicating the government’s commitment to systematic updates in corporate governance within the energy sector.
A separate topic of discussion was Ukraine’s budgetary needs for 2026. According to Svyrydenko, to ensure the functioning of the state and the stable operation of the economy next year, it is necessary to attract financial support amounting to €60 billion.
