Situation with Heating, Electricity, and Transport in Kyiv: Current Data

Україна майже удвічі збільшила імпорт електрики – Укренерго

The gradual restoration of stable operation of the energy system continues in Kyiv; however, some residential buildings still remain without centralized heating. According to the press secretary of the Kyiv City Military Administration, Kateryna Pop, as of now, 127 apartment buildings are without heating.

Electricity Supply and New Outage Schedules

Currently, there are no buildings in the capital that are completely without constant electricity supply — this issue has been partially resolved. All high-rise buildings are subject to emergency electricity outage schedules, which allows for a more even distribution of the load on the network. In the future, a transition to planned electricity supply limitation schedules is anticipated, but exact timelines for implementation have not yet been announced.

“As of yesterday, there were 287 buildings without centralized heating; now about 127 buildings remain without it, not counting those where heating is temporarily unavailable due to emergency outages,” clarified the press secretary of the KMVA.

Problematic Areas and Transport Operations

The most acute heating situation is observed in the Holosiivskyi and Desnianskyi districts of the capital. In other areas, the problems are localized and mainly related to accidents on specific sections of the network.

Due to voltage fluctuations and a shortage of electricity, there are difficulties with the movement of electric transport in Kyiv. As Kateryna Pop explained, such restrictions are necessary since electric transport consumes a significant amount of electricity.

In response to these challenges, the city plans to increase the number of ground bus routes as alternatives. Currently, these routes are operating in test mode to assess passenger flow, but their number will gradually increase in the near future to provide Kyiv residents with alternatives in case of disruptions to electric transport.
