In Ukraine, there are plans to revise the payment system for court staff by implementing new salary enhancement coefficients. This initiative was proposed by the High Council of Justice, which has submitted a relevant proposal to the Cabinet of Ministers.

New Coefficients: How Judicial Salaries Will Increase
According to the draft resolution, the amount of additional payments will depend on the workload of a specific court. The following enhancement coefficients are proposed:
- 1.2 — if the workload exceeds the norm by 20%;
- 1.3 — if the excess is 100%;
- 1.4 — in case of exceeding the workload by 200%.
The list of courts whose employees will receive increased salaries will be formed quarterly by the State Judicial Administration in agreement with the High Council of Justice.
Reasons for Revising Salaries in Courts
As reported by the High Council of Justice, the initiative to revise salaries is due to the excessive workload on the judicial system during the war. The low level of wages leads to a brain drain of qualified personnel, which can paralyze the operation of courts and complicate citizens’ ability to defend their rights.
“The aim of implementing enhancement coefficients is to eliminate the imbalance in payments, preserve the staffing potential, ensure the continuity of court operations, and maintain the independence of the judicial system.”
Currently, the government is reviewing the relevant document. The High Council of Justice emphasizes that a decision needs to be made as soon as possible to guarantee the stable operation of courts even under the challenging conditions of wartime.
