Starting September 1, 2026, the salaries of education sector employees may significantly increase, reaching 30,000 hryvnias per month. This increase is outlined in the draft state budget for 2026, which already allocates the necessary financial resources for a two-stage salary increase.

Salary Increases in Two Stages
As reported by Finance Minister Serhiy Marchenko during the budget project review in parliament, the salary increases for educators will occur in two stages. The first stage will begin on January 1, when the average salary will rise from 16,700 to 21,700 hryvnias. The second stage is scheduled for September 1, when the average salary could reach 30,000 hryvnias.
“Currently, the budget project provides for a salary increase starting January 1 – on average from 16,700 to 21,700 hryvnias. From September 1, according to the decisions made, this amount will be up to 30,000 hryvnias,” he said.
Funding and Final Figures
Serhiy Marchenko noted that the final amounts of salary increases depend on future government resolutions and decisions, as calculations are still ongoing. At the same time, he stated that the budget resources for implementing these changes have already been fully secured. This will allow, according to preliminary estimates, to increase the average monthly salary of a teacher to 10,000 hryvnias.
It is expected that this salary increase will be a significant step in supporting and developing the education sector in Ukraine in 2026.
