As a result of a massive drone attack by the Russian Federation, part of the Chernihiv region has been left without electricity. On November 15, in Nizhyn, Russian drones of the “Geran” type struck an energy facility, causing widespread power outages in the settlements of the Nizhyn and Pryluky districts. According to the head of the Chernihiv Regional Military Administration, Vyacheslav Chaus, emergency energy crews are already working to eliminate the consequences and continue restoration efforts.

Consequences of the Strike: Damage to Civil and Transport Infrastructure
In addition to energy facilities, other civil and transport infrastructure in the region was also targeted. As a result of the enemy strike, transport facilities in the Nizhyn district were damaged. In Semenivka, a drone hit an administrative building, causing damage to the structure, and in the Novhorod-Siverskyi district in Korop, a fire broke out due to a strike on a non-residential building. The shockwave also shattered windows in the local community center.
“In total, over the past day, the aggressor launched 26 strikes on Chernihiv region – 42 explosions,” added Chaus.
Situation with Electricity Supply and Actions of Energy Workers
The company “Chernihivoblenergo” reported that Russian troops also attacked energy infrastructure in the Koryukivka district, leaving part of the communities without power. Energy workers emphasized the importance of maintaining information silence and safety measures for residents of the affected areas. Restoration work will begin as soon as the security situation allows.
