“According to preliminary data, as of 09:00, air defense has shot down/suppressed 460 targets — 58 missiles and 402 drones of various types,” the Armed Forces of Ukraine stated.
Casualties and consequences of the shelling
As a result of the strike in the Kyiv region, according to the head of the regional military administration Mykola Kalashnyk, the number of fatalities has risen to four people. 15 residents of the region were injured, three are in serious condition, and two are currently undergoing surgery. All victims are receiving the necessary medical assistance.
Six missiles and 28 strike drones hit 11 locations, and debris from downed drones fell on seven sites. Russia systematically uses a variety of weapons — strike drones, missiles, aerial bombs, and multiple launch rocket systems — to attack Ukrainian cities and civilian infrastructure across all regions of the country.
Ukrainian authorities and international human rights organizations classify these attacks as war crimes of the Russian Federation and emphasize that they are deliberate in nature. Shelling of vital infrastructure, healthcare facilities, energy, and water supply systems, which deprives people of basic living conditions, is regarded as actions that have signs of genocide.
The leadership of Russia continues to deny that its military deliberately targets civilian infrastructure during the full-scale war, destroying hospitals, schools, kindergartens, energy, and water supply facilities, as well as killing civilians.
