In Ukraine, there is a sharp decline in prices for white cabbage, caused by several factors. Experts from the specialized portal EastFruit report that prices for this popular vegetable on the market have fallen from 52 UAH/kg ($1.25/kg) to 40-48 UAH/kg ($0.96-1.15/kg).

Reasons for the Price Drop
The decrease in cabbage prices is linked to a rapid deterioration in its quality due to prolonged storage in farms. This has led to a decrease in demand for the product, which, in turn, complicates sales for Ukrainian producers. Specialists note that the supply of early vegetables continues to rise, which also affects prices.
Comparison with Last Year
Despite the significant price drop, it is worth noting that currently, white cabbage costs on average 6.4 times more than during the same period last year. This indicates that, although prices are decreasing, they still remain at a high level.
Experts predict further price reductions in this segment.
