Resilience of Communication During Blackouts: Position of the Ministry of Digital Transformation

The issue of mobile communication and internet functionality during power outages remains urgent for Ukrainians. The Ministry of Digital Transformation clarified how long basic stations can operate autonomously without electricity, as well as explained the reasons for internet disruptions in such situations and the likelihood of a complete blackout.

Strengthening Financial Monitoring and Changes for Businesses

The National Bank of Ukraine has significantly tightened the requirements for financial monitoring. From now on, banks are required to conduct deeper checks on their clients, especially individual entrepreneurs and businesses, for any signs of fictitiousness. The regulator emphasizes the abandonment of a formal approach and the implementation of a comprehensive analysis of financial transactions.

The capital is recording a record number of closed businesses: in 2025, over 32,000 Kyiv entrepreneurs ceased operations, and overall, small businesses across the country lost more than 250,000 individual entrepreneurs.

The Ministry of Economy has published updated criteria for strategically important enterprises. The main change is the reinstatement of mandatory linkage to the average salary when reserving employees.

Social Initiatives and Inflation Forecasts

Throughout 2026, a significant increase in the minimum pension for age is planned in Ukraine. Payments will be gradually increased nearly threefold – to 7,374 hryvnias. The relevant changes have already been published on the website of the Verkhovna Rada.

Experts warn that in 2026, Ukrainians will face rising tariffs for gas distribution, which will lead to increased prices for goods and rising inflation. This is linked to new tariff decisions in the energy sector.

The head of the Main Intelligence Directorate, Kyrylo Budanov, announced the implementation of important changes regarding the activities of territorial recruitment and social support centers (TRC and SSP), as well as issues related to the unauthorized departure of military units. Mobilization in 2026 is taking on modern forms: TRCs will no longer operate in the format of street rounds. The process is transitioning to a digital format with clear, transparent procedures.
