Energy Supply Situation in the Kyiv Region
According to DTEK, emergency power outages are in effect in the Kyiv region, which is why the usual outage schedules are temporarily not being applied. Energy workers emphasize that all emergency and repair work is being carried out continuously. The restoration of electricity supply is complicated by the scale of the destruction and adverse weather conditions.
“We are working continuously, despite the frost, to restore electricity supply to homes as quickly as possible,” the message states.
Disruptions in Heating and Water Supply in Kyiv
As a result of the massive rocket attack by the Russian Federation, in addition to power outages, there are also issues with water supply in the capital. The situation is particularly difficult on the left bank of Kyiv, where many areas have been left without water. It has been reported that 5,635 multi-story residential buildings in Kyiv have been left without heating supply following the nighttime attack on January 20. City services are working to eliminate the consequences of the shelling to restore the normal functioning of critical infrastructure.
