Lot Features and Geography of Lysovytska Square
The starting price of the lot is 1.108 billion hryvnias excluding VAT, and the guarantee deposit for participants is over 221 million hryvnias. Lysovytska Square is located in two regions — within the Stryi district of Lviv and the Kalush district of Ivano-Frankivsk region, near the northern outskirts of the city of Bolekhiv. This deposit has significant potential, as reserves of natural gas, oil, gas dissolved in oil, and gas condensate have been discovered here.
Investment Appeal and Experience from Previous Auctions
According to the state balance at the beginning of 2026, the prospective oil resources in this area are estimated at 55.588 million tons, which is equivalent to over 400 million barrels. This makes Lysovytska Square one of the most attractive for investors in the oil and gas sector. The auction winner will have the right not only to geological exploration of the subsoil but also to pilot industrial development of the deposit with subsequent extraction of oil and gas for 20 years.
“Recent auctions show a high interest from businesses in oil and gas assets. In particular, in December 2025, the company Ukrgazvydobuvannya acquired a special permit for the Novodykanska Square for 738.9 million UAH. This is almost twice the starting price. On the same day, another plot (Ostrivska Square in Lviv region) was sold for 555 million UAH with a starting price of 105.3 million. This indicates the competitiveness and potential of such assets.”
Analysis of previous auctions indicates significant competition and increased demand for oil and gas plots, which only intensifies interest in the upcoming bidding for Lysovytska Square.
