Kovalska Group Delays Launch of Autoclaved Aerated Concrete Plant in Lviv Region Until the End of 2025

"Ковальська" на декілька місяців перенесла запуск заводу з виробництва газобетону на Львівщині.

The industrial and construction group “Kovalska” is completing preparatory work for the launch of the first phase of the autoclaved aerated concrete production plant in the Lviv region. The facility is located in the village of Rozvadiv, about 40 kilometers from Lviv, and will be significant for the construction materials market in Ukraine.

Plant Launch Postponed Due to Labor Shortage and War

The launch of the facility was initially planned for August; however, the implementation of the project had to be postponed until the end of 2025. Representatives of “Kovalska” explain the change in schedule by two main reasons: a lack of qualified workers and delays from foreign contractors caused by the full-scale war and related restrictions.

The reasons for postponing the launch date are attributed to a shortage of necessary personnel and forced delays from foreign contractors due to the war.

Large-Scale Investment Project for the Region

Construction of the first phase of the plant began in 2023. After the commissioning of two phases of production capacity, the facility will be able to produce over 1.2 million tons of autoclaved aerated concrete per year, allowing it to become one of the largest producers of this material in Ukraine. The plant will be part of Kovalska’s Western Industrial Hub, which unites enterprises engaged in the extraction and processing of raw materials, as well as the production of construction materials within a single industrial space.

The total investment amount that the “Kovalska” group is directing to create the hub in the Lviv region will reach €100 million. The new plant is also intended to compensate for the loss of the company’s production capacities in the south of the country, which became inaccessible due to military actions.
