A Fake About 24,000 Hryvnias Payments to Ukrainians is Spreading on TikTok

Російські шахраї атакують довірливих українців

A new wave of fraudulent schemes targeting the Ukrainian audience is being recorded on the social network TikTok. Recently, false information has been actively disseminated there about supposedly one-time payments of 24,000 hryvnias for citizens who have not left the territory of Ukraine since February 24, 2022.

How the Fake Scheme Works on TikTok

Videos appearing on TikTok contain claims about the adoption by the Verkhovna Rada of the so-called “Resolution 4425,” which allegedly guarantees financial assistance to Ukrainians who remain in the country after the onset of the full-scale war. However, this information is not true. There is no decision regarding the payment of 24,000 hryvnias in this format on the official website of the Verkhovna Rada.

“In reality, this is a fake. There is no resolution on the website of the Verkhovna Rada regarding the payment of 24,000 hryvnias as one-time assistance to Ukrainians who remained in Ukraine after the beginning of the full-scale invasion.”

The Mechanism of Fraud and Experts’ Warnings

The perpetrators behind this disinformation have deliberately forged the design of the official website of the Verkhovna Rada to give the false information an appearance of legitimacy. In the videos, users are invited to follow a link that, instead of leading to official resources, directs them to anonymous Telegram channels. This increases the risk of falling victim to fraudulent resources that may use personal data for criminal purposes.

The Center for Counteracting Disinformation emphasizes that such fakes are created to increase reach and attract new audiences to external resources. Experts urge citizens to be cautious, verify information only from official sources, avoid suspicious links, and not provide personal data to dubious websites or channels.
