Due to Shelling by the Russian Federation, Power Outage Queues Increased in Ukraine

Як живе енергосистема України сьогодні

As a result of recent massive attacks by the Russian Federation on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure in three regions – Kharkiv, Odesa, and Donetsk – some consumers have been left without electricity supply. This was reported by the Ministry of Energy, noting that restoration work is ongoing at the damaged facilities.

Changes in Outage Schedules and Energy Consumption Situation

Due to the aftermath of the shelling, by the end of the day, the number of power outage queues in Ukraine has increased to four, which is more than the previously announced 3.5 queues. This decision was made to balance the load on the energy system and ensure stability of supply under challenging conditions.

The Ministry of Energy reminds that on November 11, phased power outages will continue throughout the day in most regions of the country. Additionally, industrial enterprises and businesses must adhere to the established electricity consumption limits until the end of the day.

Residents can find updated information about the outage schedules on the official website of their regional energy provider.

Impact of Weather Conditions and Restoration Work

According to the company “Ukrenergo”, as of 9:30 AM on November 11, total electricity consumption in Ukraine exceeded the figures from the previous Monday by 2.6%. The main reason for the increase has been attributed to adverse weather – cloudiness and rain, which reduced the efficiency of household solar power plants, leading to an increased load on the overall grid.

Also, due to heavy precipitation and gusts of wind, 16 settlements in the Kirovohrad region were partially or completely without electricity in the morning. Energy workers are working to restore electricity supply to all consumers by the end of the current day.

“The reason is cloudy weather with rain in most regions of Ukraine, which causes low efficiency of household solar power plants and a corresponding increase in energy consumption from the overall grid,” they explain.
