Ford Mondeo Survived the Shelling and Remained Operational
After the Russian shelling of Kyiv, this Ford Mondeo found itself among many vehicles that were damaged. As a result of the strike, the car had a shattered windshield and crumpled body panels, yet the engine remained functional, allowing the vehicle to move independently. According to the car’s owner, Alina, her apartment on the third floor was also affected during the attack: windows were blown out, and the balcony and kitchen were damaged.
“Fortunately, everyone is alive and well, as the residents managed to run into the corridor, and the ‘two walls’ rule saved them.”
Immediately after the shelling, the family grabbed their cat and went down to the shelter. Another car belonging to the family was also damaged by debris, as it was parked next to the building.
Widespread Consequences of the Shelling: Loss of Life and Dozens of Destroyed Vehicles
As a result of the missile attack on April 16, significant damage was inflicted on car dealerships in the Obolon district of Kyiv. A dealership specializing in the sale of Mercedes-Benz, Kia, Ducati, and Chery vehicles was severely damaged. The fire destroyed around 60 cars and led to the tragic deaths of two security guards at the dealership — 60-year-olds Yuri and Sergey.
Overall, the shelling caused serious material and human losses to the city and its residents, once again highlighting the danger of missile attacks to civilian infrastructure and private transport.
