Cherry sales have begun in Ukraine, but the prices for this popular berry are astonishingly varied. In some regions, the cost of cherries reaches 2200 UAH per kilogram, which is particularly noticeable in the capital. In Kyiv, cherries, likely imported and premium, are sold at a price that causes outrage among buyers.

At the same time, early cherries from Ukrainian producers are available at a significantly lower price – approximately 600 UAH per kilogram, although not all sellers offer them at that price. Ukrainians are actively sharing videos on social media, showcasing the first batches of cherries and discussing price perceptions.
Cherry Prices in Different Regions
The capital continues to lead in cherry prices. For example, in Kyiv, journalists found a price of 2200 UAH per kilogram in one of the supermarkets. In contrast, in Sumy, cherries are sold for 2000 UAH per kilogram, as confirmed by TikTok user yuliazibareva.
A similar situation is observed in Chernivtsi, where market prices range from 1450 to 1700 UAH per kilogram. Additionally, at the famous Odesa market “Privoz,” cherries are sold for 1600 UAH per kilogram, as recorded by TikTok user kristina22.ua.
According to information from ITV, imported cherries can be purchased at the market in Rivne for 1400-1500 UAH per kilogram. However, despite the high prices, the demand for cherries remains stable.
Yet, cherries do not cost thousands of hryvnias everywhere. At the market in Lviv, YouTube user Yaroslav Mazur found Transcarpathian cherries at a significantly lower price – only 600 UAH per kilogram.
