In Chernihiv, law enforcement officers detained a man who opened fire with a starting pistol on one of the city’s streets. According to the police, the incident occurred during the day when they received reports of gunfire.

Police Deny Reports of Shooting at Children
“The information regarding shooting at children has not been confirmed. There are no injuries,” the law enforcement officials stated.
After receiving the report, patrol officers quickly arrived at the scene along with an investigative team. They seized the starting pistol from the man, which had been used to fire shots.
Criminal Proceedings Initiated
Under the procedural guidance of the prosecutor’s office, investigators have opened a criminal case under part 1 of Article 296 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, which provides for liability for hooliganism. Currently, the police are preparing a notice of suspicion for the detained individual.
