Черговий біткоїн-кит переказав 1000 BTC після 12 років бездіяльності

On September 28, 2025, the analytical company Arkham Intelligence recorded a significant movement from one of the oldest Bitcoin wallets. Value Increase and Activation of ‘Sleeping’ Wallets

According to information from Lookonchain, this wallet was funded about 15 years ago through mining. The identity of the owner remains unknown, as do the motives for the transfer. During this time, the price of Bitcoin has increased by 830 times — from $135 to over $111,000 at the time of the transaction. Experts note that such transfers from old addresses indicate a desire among long-term holders to realize profits amid historical highs in the cryptocurrency’s price.

“An increasing number of ‘sleeping’ wallets are being activated amid the rising price of the first cryptocurrency.”

New Examples of Cryptocurrency Whales Awakening

The last few months have been marked by heightened activity from holders of large amounts of Bitcoin who had not conducted any transactions for years. In September 2025, another crypto whale, whose wallet had been inactive since 2014, transferred 1000 BTC to new addresses. At the time of the initial asset influx, their value was only $847, but during the transaction, it exceeded $116 million.

In the same month, another address with a balance of 444 BTC, worth about $50 million, was activated. Additionally, one major investor exchanged a significant portion of Bitcoin for Ethereum, increasing their balance in that cryptocurrency to $4 billion.

In July 2025, it was reported that Galaxy Digital sold over 80,000 BTC. These assets likely belonged to one of Bitcoin’s early investors, and the transaction amount reached over $9 billion.

Earlier, it was reported that cryptocurrency whales moved Ethereum worth over $785 million after eight years of inactivity.
