Collaboration Between Aeon and Ukrainian Drone Manufacturers
Aeon’s CEO and founder, Navid Tahmas, reported that the company is already collaborating with one of the largest Ukrainian drone manufacturers, adapting the Zeus missile system for launch from quadcopters. Although the name of the Ukrainian partner is not disclosed, this direction is considered key in their joint efforts, as it allows for a substantial increase in accuracy and effectiveness in hitting targets on the front lines.
The Zeus missile is advantageously distinguished by its modular architecture, allowing for quick installation on various platforms without significant structural changes. This is particularly important for Ukrainian drones, which are rapidly evolving to meet the new challenges of war. The cost of one missile is approximately $50,000, which is significantly cheaper than traditional anti-tank systems like the FGM-148 Javelin, which were not designed for use with drones.
Technological Advantages and Production Scaling
The main innovation of the system is the software-defined guidance system ODIN, which ensures high precision in targeting and allows for attacks on targets even beyond the line of sight. According to Navid Tahmas, this system enables rapid software updates and adapts the missile to new types of threats without the need to create new weapon prototypes.
In addition to implementation on aerial platforms, Aeon is working with another Ukrainian company to integrate Zeus missiles into ground unmanned systems and maritime drones. This approach will significantly expand the application range of the missile system, creating a versatile tool for various types of combat operations.
“I started Aeon based on what I saw in Ukraine — the importance of cost, scale, and adaptability… Threats and tactics are changing rapidly, and systems must keep pace with the times and stay one step ahead,” said Navid Tahmas.
He emphasized that the modern experience of warfare in Ukraine has shown the critical need for affordable, mass-produced, and simultaneously high-precision solutions. That is why Aeon has focused on scalability: the company plans to produce over 10,000 Zeus missiles annually to ensure supply stability and reduce dependence on complex supply chains.
In Tahmas’s view, traditional approaches to armament that have dominated for decades no longer match the pace of change on the battlefield. The integration of precision weapons into drones, which is actively being implemented in Ukraine, could become the new standard in warfare.
